"But the shining example of Frazier's commitment to real winemaking is the 2001 Frazier Memento Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a winemaking tour de force with gobs and gobs of woven fruit that saturates the glass and makes you want to beg for more. Sold exclusively at the winery, this 200-case production run is easily on par with Harlan Estates, Screaming Eagle, Staglin Family and clearly surpasses wines from Stag's Leap, Caymus and Joseph Phelps, the so desired cult reds from Napa". From The Del Mar Times, Article by Andy Abramson
"Consistently spot-on Cabs and Merlot from 10-acre family estate vineyard are dense yet racy; more subtlety than Napa norm; results are generally surefire winners. An up-and-coming winery worth watching".
From Anthony Dias Blue's Pocket Guide to Wine 2006
2007 MEMENTO
91-93 Points, Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate #186
The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Memento reveals slightly more chocolate fudge-like characteristics intermixed with red and black fruits. Big, deep, and rich with plenty of tannin, its concentration is so impressive that I do not believe it is a gamble to sit on this wine for 5-7 years, and drink it over the following two decades
2007 FRAZIER CABERNET
90-92 Points, Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate #186
The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate exhibits an inky/purple color, a big, sweet nose of chocolate, cocoa, creme de cassis, blackberries, earth, and licorice. Dense, full-bodied, and opulent with an abundance of tannin as well as fruit, length, and depth. Give it 3-5 years of cellaring, and drink it over the following 25+.
2006 MEMENTO
95 Points, Anthony Dias Blue, The Tasting Panel
(2010, Next issue, Review to come)
90 Points, The Wine Enthusiast, September 2009
"The alcohol is a shocking 16%, but the truth is this wine is deliciously drinkable, in a soft, velvety way. Shows decadent flavors of blackberry essence, cherry tart, dark chocolate and cedar, grounded by earthy notes of sage. Very rich and exotic, almost a liqueur. Drink now. - S.H. (9/1/2009)

2005 MEMENTO
92 Points, The Wine Enthusiast, December 2008
"...
Like their regular '05, it's a very tannic wine, not suitable for drinking now or possibly anytime soon. But it's clearly powerful and concentrated in flavor, with a dense layering of cassis and freshly-crushed blackberries. Totally dry...it should reward cellaring over the next eight years". — S.H. (12/1/2008)
92 Points, The Wine News, September 2008
"Black garnet hue. Heady aromas of eucalyptus, mocha and nutmeg. Baker's chocolate and black cherry fruit with muscular tannins and flinty mineral flavors. This is a power-packed Cab with big tannins and youthful astringency that needs to soften up".
Recommended, Decanter Magazine, Jan. 2009
Floral, inky, cedar and cassis with vanilla and pepper. Intense mint chocolate and coffee. Extracted, but good acidity. Drink from 2009
2005 FRAZIER CABERNET
4 stars, Highly Recommended, Decanter Magazine, Jan. 2009 Plenty of fruit purity. Seamless acids and tannins. Quite mineral driven and restrained - Bordeaux style. Good balance, classical. Drink from 2009.
91 Points, The Wine Enthusiast, December 2008
"You'll want to stash this young Cab away for a while...it has a very rich, concentrated core of cassis flavor and is dry and balanced in acidity. Should negotiate the next 6–8 years easily, and maybe longer". S.H. (12/1/2008)
2005 FRAZIER MERLOT
92 Points, The Wine Enthusiast, June 2008
"This is a serious Merlot, a welcome relief from the sea of mediocrity that masquerades under the variety. Grown in the winery's estate vineyard in the southerly Coombsville area, the wine shows similarities to Carneros Merlots. Dry, fairly tannic, with crisp acidity and an earthy grounding, it has supple, refined flavors of black cherries, currants, cocoa, violets and cedar".
Double Gold & Best of Class, American Fine Wine Competition, South Florida Business Journal
2004 FRAZIER CABERNET
Gold Medal, Orange County Fair Wine Competition, June 2008
90 Points, Anthony Dias Blue, April 2008
"Lovely ripe plum and clean generous flavors; lovely with a long, seamless finish that provides complexity and charm".
3 Stars, Recommended, Decanter Magazine, January 2008
"Sweet, jammy, cherry and blackcurrant, smoky oak. Good concentration. Spicy with quite good length. Drink 2009-2016 ".

2003 FRAZIER CABERNET
Highly Recommended, Pointless Wines, 4/2007
94 Points, Taster's Choice Selection, The Wine News, July '06
"Intense ruby-purple hue. Complex, though somewhat reserved aromas of blueberry, mixed berries, minerals, bittersweet chocolate and iron. Concentrated, inky flavors of blackberry, mocha, minerals and dried tobacco are dense yet lithe. Creamy finish shows lively citrus notes."
90 Points, The Wine Enthusiast, September 2006
"It's been several years since I last tasted a Frazier Cab, but this '03 brought back memories of the excellent '99. It's not quite as rich, but is classically structured. From a cooler part of the valley, it blends dried herbs in with the black currants".
2001 FRAZIER CABERNET 93 Points, Anthony Dias Blue, February 2005
"Rich and dense with lovely flesh and ripe plum and berry fruit; lush oak, spice and a long, juicy finish."
92 Points, The Wine News, August 2004
"Black-garnet hue. Powerful aromas of wild cherry, rhubarb, tobacco, peppermint and a citrus note. Forward flavors of tangy raspberry, cherry, pencil lead, tea and minerals have a milky mouth-feel and vibrant acidity. Spicy finish shows coffee bean."
89 Points, Robert Parker, February 2005
"A chocolate, espresso and black-current scented bouquet is followed by a supple textured, lush, heady Cabernet displaying abundant fruit, medium to full-body, and no hard edges. With plenty of glycerin, fruit, and texture, this hedonistic 2001 will have wide appeal. Enjoy it over the next 7-8 years."
